Tullio at Yestermorrow
This past August Tullio taught a home design course at Yestermorrow, the design/build school in Warren, Vermont. His co-instructor, Patricia Pinkston, was one of his interns in 1975, and was later the executive director of the school.
"I love teaching there. The staff is outstanding and the students are so respectful and creative, and Pat is very patient, articulate, and a wonderful teacher."-Tullio
The Glass House
Thanks to the Campbell's generosity, Tullio and his wife, Judith, took a field trip to New Canaan, Connecticut to see Philip Johnson's estate, including his sculpture studio, art gallery and his famous glass house."Of course everyone knows that Johnson acquired his architectural philosophy from his mentor, the great architect, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Nevertheless, it is remarkable the way he was able to design the glass house unencumbered by 'functionality'. It is so pure in its form, with only the cylindrical bathroom / fireplace mass as its only fixed element. He had an idea and he stuck with it uncompromisingly." -- Tullio
Wright at the Guggenheim
Tullio took a day trip to Manhattan to see the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City."I loved seeing so many of Wright's original drawings. I had not realized that some were so large and so beautifully
drafted. Generally, the exhibit itself was not so well designed and the space never did accommodate artwork very well. I think Wright just wanted to design an awesome rotunda - which, in fact, he did - and let the artists fend for themselves in the narrow leftover spaces around it, hardly suitable for their intended purpose." -- Tullio

Tullio Visits Shanghai, China
During that same month Tullio visited Shanghai, China to become more familiar with the customs, culture and politics of that country. For the past few years he and his interns have been working on Andromeda, an eco-city proposed to be built on the outskirts of Shanghai. During his visit he promoted the concept of the perfectly green, sustainable eco-city. By his good friends Peter and Dedie King, he was introduced to three young Chinese, Echo, Xia and Phoebe.
